Why Pap for Driving Lessons at Daniel's School of Motoring

The Driving Standards Agency strongly recommends that you take lessons from an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and there is no doubt that this is the best and the safest way to learn. Learning with your family or friends may be feasible for some people, but if you would like to learn in a car with special controls with a fully experienced instructor, then paying for your lessons is worth every penny.

What Else We I Need to take driving lessons

Provisional licence

To take your driving lessons you will need a UK provisional driving licence. You can easily apply for a provisional driving licence online or by completing the D1 application form available at the post offices. Click here for more information.

Age

You need to be a minimum of 17 years old to drive on the public roads, unless you are disabled and in receipt of mobility allowance at high rate. Disabled drivers can learn to drive on public roads from the age of 16.

Reasonable eyesight

You must satisfy the examiner that in good daylight you can read a vehicle number plate with letters 79.4mm (3.1in) high at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (about 67 feet). You can wear glasses or contact lenses to meet these requirements, but please remember to wear them at all times during driving if required.

Theory test

At some point during your driving lessons, when advised by your driving instructor, you will need to book your theory test. You cannot apply for your practical driving test until you have taken your theory test. If you have any questions, please ask the instructor when you have your next lesson.
